What did we do to deserve this treat? Lucasfilm has released another clip from the upcoming Star Wars spin-off Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The clip features Princess Leia’s adoptive father Bail Organa (Jimmy Smits) and the leaders of the Rebellion working out just exactly what to do about the looming threat of the Death Star. It seems Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is the one that galvanizes the Rebellion to take action and stop the Empire from cementing its grip on the galaxy.

Seeing Bail Organa in anywhere other than the end of the film is a bit unexpected. As we already know the film will end just 10 minutes before the beginning of the original Star Wars so it’s likely we will see Bail hand off the Death Star plans to Princess Leia before the film closes. Smits revealed he did indeed have a cameo in the film when he was a guest on The Talk but it’s starting to look like it will be a little more than just a cameo.

Smits also told US Weekly that Bails less stately costume signals that he has fallen from his political position as Senator of Alderaan.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters December 16, 2016.

Produced by Lucasfilm, the film stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelson, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Written by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy. Directed by Gareth Edwards.

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves. In theaters December 2016.
